Berlin, August 1, 2019. On August 1, 2019, Daniel Mercer takes over the position as Head of Division Business Development at Storengy Deutschland GmbH. He is member of the management team and is responsible for the development of new business areas, e.g. in the fields of geothermal, energy storage and power-to-x.
Berlin, January 1, 2019. With effect from January 1, 2019, Storengy Deutschland GmbH has completed the sale of its 19.72 percent financial stake in Speicher Breitbrunn-Eggstätt GbR and thus on the natural gas storage facility of the same name to NAFTA Bavaria GmbH. The latter also took over the gas storage portfolio of DEA Deutsche Erdoel AG with three storage facilities in Bavaria (Breitbrunn-Eggstätt, Inzenham-West and Wolfersberg).
Harsefeld, 19th April 2018. Storengy Deutschland GmbH officially launched photovoltaic panels at the underground storage site in Harsefeld. With the newly installed panels around 130 MWh of solar energy will be produced and around 80 t of CO2 emissions avoided. The solar power is used on the storage site and partly fed into the network.
Hanover, 4th August 2017. Under the leadership of the Leibniz Institute for Applied Geophysics (LIAG), the project PlayType has started: a research project, which deals with the typifyingng of geothermal resources for the first time. This project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy through the 6th Energy Research Program of the Federal Republic of Germany and is supervised by project sponsor Jülich, research and innovation support partner of the public sector. It is a joint project with the globally active energy storage company Storengy, a subsidiary of the ENGIE Group, as well as the International Geothermal Energy Centre in Bochum as a scientific partner and seat of the geothermal World Association IGA.
Itterbeck, 13th June, 2017. Storengy Deutschland conducted a large staff training in cooperation with volunteer fire brigades. According to the scenario, a fire was found in the forest area near to the operational site of the underground storage Uelsen. People and operating facilities did not get harmed or damaged.
Itterbeck, 5th May, 2017. Albert Stegemann, Member of Parliament (CDU), visited the underground storage site in Uelsen operated by Storengy Deutschland GmbH. The discussion was focused on the role of storage facilities in the scope of the energy transition.
Storengy Deutschland introduces a new online service. “eTender” is one of the first steps taken towards digitalization of our business and operations.
The “eTender” platform is hosted on our storage portal. From now on, auctions for storage products offered by Storengy run exclusively on this new tool, allowing our customers or interested parties to submit their bids with just a few clicks. All documents related to the auction will be made available there. Announcements of upcoming auctions will still be published on our website.
