A reference in renewable gas storage

Our ambition

We want to become the European reference in hydrogen and biomethane storage. Through our industrial know-how and our ability to innovate, we want to guarantee security of supply and provide the flexibility and reliability that are essential to tomorrow's energy system.

100% renewable gas by 2050

By 2050, we will be storing 100% renewable gas in our storage facilities. Mainly biomethane for aquifers and hydrogen for salt caverns. This will require some adaptation, both for biomethane and for hydrogen. To achieve this, we have a vast R&D programme and we are already working on facilities that incorporate the specific features of these renewable gases.

Underground hydrogen storage projects

We have several projects underway with partners (HyPSTER, FrHyGe), subsidised by the European Commission via the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, with a view to replicability at European level.

With a strong focus on cooperation and developing our key areas of expertise, we want to work with our stakeholders to build industrial solutions and services that will help them accelerate their energy transition.
